Exercise is also very good for your joints and especially for your back, walking will strengthen your lower back which is where a lot of people will have problems especially later on in life, of course we cannot help when diseases such as arthritis slow us down but again if you have a healthy diet throughout your life there are certain foods that can help slow down the process and at least keep you that little bit fitter and more able to cope if the likes of arthritis does take a hold.

You local health shop is a good source for finding vitamins and minerals that will give you an extra boost in warding off certain conditions and they do say that taken early enough in life then the benefits can be very good.

So if it is swimming, jogging, cycling or walking that you decide to take up just remember that carrying out exercise for a few weeks or even months will not be enough to guarantee you  pain free senior years but maintaining the exercise throughout your life regularly will give you an excellent chance.
